DIY Backyard Hippie Boho Wedding in PA// Damie and Matt invited their friends and family to their home for an intimate celebration in small town Quakertown, PA. The day and property was filled with adorable DIY details with a bohemian flair - MY FAV! The first thing I noticed was how LUSH their property was, it's not every house that you see a forest in the backyard. Especially for my California desert self, it was a complete change of pace from the typical dry weather out west. Matt built the ceremony arch and bridge that leads you through the forest to a skate ramp (that he also built) where he proposed to Damie. The bride Damie created beautiful centerpieces, each one unique, set with wildflowers and lace. She opted to go barefoot (where are all my barefoot brides at?!) and completed her look with a flowy gyspy dress by Inbal Raviv, turquoise jewelry and wildflowers in her hair. The bride's sister and maid of honor, Jess, is a sweet friend of mine and it was awesome to see the bond the two sister's share. They danced to music that reminded them of their mom and have matching tattoos to honor her memory. The bridesmaids all wore different colored dresses which is always so fun to see and the groomsmen opted for dark grey + black to allow the ladies colors to shine. All in all it was one special day that I was delighted to capture. I really adored the winning combination of matching dreadlocks, boho/hippie vibes, greenery, bare feet, tattoos and DIY moments. It was absolutely beautiful <3

Us wedding photographers will typically stage certain moments (especially during the getting ready portion) but I can honestly say this day was more on the candid side. Jess did Damie's makeup, which was sweet and very natural. Tears were flowing during the speeches by Matt's mom and son after the ceremony. It was as genuine as it gets and I'm here for it!
