Moody Kona Kai Wedding Photography in San Diego // Moody Beachy Vibes anyone? Chandra & Peter go together like peas and carrots. Their bridal squad and side kick Kona - was a total dream team all the way. They knew how to kick off the getting ready festivities by taking shots of kettle one. I think I might have to start bringing my couples mini shots to start the day, who's in?!! Kona is their dog, who also happens to share the name of the venue (So dang cute!) That was one of the many highlights of the day. I'm a huge dog fan and Kona Kai welcomes man's best friend at your wedding, which is not something that other venues can easily say. Even the venue I opted for initially would not allow pets, good thing we ended up eloping and brought the doggo anyways lol!

This venue has a few different options when accommodating you and your guests. Chandra and Peter chose to get married on the private beach side. A short walk away from here and you can view the San Diego skyline as the sun sets, it's absolutely gorgeous! Chandra had burgundy ribbons in her jewel toned bouquet to perfectly match Peter's jacket. Kona also wore a matching flower wreath, total heart stealer if you ask me! Chandra's DRESS from the white dress couture (omg!) fit her like a glove, I loved how intricate the lace details were, so so stunniiiiiiiing! Peter rocked the bow tie and inside his suit read "I got married in this" with their date embroidered on the inside. Don't forget to peep their custom cake topper, I love small details like this. They both shared their hearts and wrote their own vows. Chandra gushed about her mom and dad's relationship, and how she did not think a man like Peter existed until they found one another. Peter shed a few tears while holding her hand and looking at her as if no one else was on the beach. Peas and Carrots guys, for reals. The gentle breeze along the water and boats in the backdrop made for the perfect setting for them and their guests. The colors came out to play during sunset. What I love about this venue, from a photographers point of view, is you have so many options and places to take portraits. It's a combination of casual and elegant and this couple really brought the fire with their passionate love for one another.
